Life is a highway...

Today was one of our 3 grueling drive days -Kentucky to Pennsylvania. We saw a lot of trees and even more highway.
We got lucky again with a really nice picnic spot for lunch.

We survived a few bouts of the giggles -Miriam and her magic pillow head. We endured a bit of car sickness or nausie, as in I'm feeling nausie (another Miriamsim).

And added to our pipe cleaner "art" gallery.

Today there were many requests for imaginary friends -meet Bubbles.

Lottie's new friend Teacup.

And electricity man.

....

It is unanimous, the Pennsylvania turn pike is the highway to hell -evil and deceptive and the route to Hotel du Village which translates as hell. Purgatory, was our mistaken jaunt into New Jersey. I have never been so lost, so lost that we had to find someplace open at midnight to give us a city and address so that Victor could help us find our way to our New Hope oasis. Fortunately we found Friendly's, where they were still serving ice cream at midnight and graciously helped us find our way back to Pennsylvania. We finally arrived in New Hope at 1:30am -not quite the oasis we were expecting. The bright spot (literally) was that some of the bugs occupying our rooms were lightning bugs. Once Miriam realized the nature of her roommates, she went from being horrified to naming her new best lightning bug friends. Matthew was already asleep -and aglow in lightning bugs. The rest of the kids were really good sports. Annalee and I not so much.

I love Friendly's! Did you get the cone head sundae? If not, make that your next stop!
